Commercial pumpkin spice beer is a product of the craft brewing movement of the 1890's. Before this, there existed a great tradition of vegetable beers using a variety of vegatables. Historical research shows pumpkin was used in beers by early american coloinists.

Many flavored spirits are a sugary mess of imitation flavors that taste like a pale shadow of the fruit, spice, grain, or herbs they are trying to represent. Corsair will have none of this, insisting on only using fresh all-natural ingredients. They load their pot still’s vapor basket with ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, and pumpkin. They then distill a second time to bind all of the flavors in a lightly spiced and delicate flavor.

The whisky tastes kust like pumpkin pie, minus most of the calories. The spiced moonshine has flavors of vanilla, very mild pumpkin, sweet malt, and cinnamon.
